Jake's First Tee-Ball Game!!

Jake's First Tee-Ball game was tonight at Snowden Grove park. It was such a blast! Before I was a Momma, I never would have appreciated how cute and how funny watching 3 &4 yr. olds playing Tee-ball could be :) Those little cutie pies had the best time out there chasing the ball around, running straight to 3rd base, and kicking dirt! Actually, they did much better than I thought. They hit the ball really well. Jake's team name is the Southaven Cardinals and we have wonderful coaches, Tom and Angel. Their little boy Thomas is on the team also. They just let the boys go out and have fun, not a lot of competition. Our little man did so good, we are so proud of him! We had our own little fan club there to cheer Jake on.......Daddy, Momma, Mimi, Papaw, Uncle Jake, Uncle Joe, Aunt Aly, Gabe, Lanie, and Shelby! The first game was so much fun. We are hoping the rest will be too!

Jake's Namesake Comes to Town!

Wednesday was a special day for us! Jake got to meet his namesake for the first time! We were hoping that Jake would love him instantly and bond with him as quickly as we all have. We named Jake after him because we think that he is the sweetest, coolest, and smartest Uncle ever :) We hope Jake grows up to be just like him!

Of course, Jake gave him his official seal of approval by messing his hair up! For those of you who don't know Jake personally, if he likes you, he will rub your hair. Don't ask why??? He just started that when he was really little and hasn't quit yet :) When he hugs us, he has to be rubbing our hair too! Hopefully, he will grow out of that before he hits high school. It might be a little embarrassing if he goes around rubbing all the girls' hair that he likes :) (but, of course, his Momma will always love it, even if I have to re-brush my hair a couple of times)

                   

Uncle Jake really likes our dog, Brinkley too! She loved it when he came over because he brought 'doggy' treats in his pocket for her. He also spoiled her because everytime she would kick her ball under the couch he would retrieve it for her. Normally, that ball stays under the couch until we have to move the couch for some reason! Poor Brinkley has taken the backseat since Jake has been born. She used to be so pampered and spoiled. Uncle Jake brought a little Sunshine to her day :)

We have been looking forward to Uncle Jake coming for a very long time. We haven't seen him in over four years since he lives in California. We are so glad you are here Uncle Jake! Saturday evening we had a little barbeque so Uncle Jake could have some good 'ole Southern ribs. We had fun playing outside since it was such a gorgeous day!
